PARENTS’ NIGHT

September 8, 2022 at Tampa Prep
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 8 for Parents’ Night which begins at 6:00 p.m. Parents’ Night is an opportunity for parents to both meet your child’s advisor and teachers for the 2022-23 school year, and to learn about the curriculum in the various classes.  Parents’ Night is for parents only (not students).

Please note that, beginning at 5:15pm, parking will be available on campus and at the University of Tampa West Parking Garage located at 514 N Blvd, Tampa, FL 33606. Once our campus lot is full, you will be directed by Tampa Prep security officers to the UT West Parking Garage (with complimentary shuttle service picking up across N. Boulevard at UT’s Straz Hall before and after the event). This map will illustrate where to park as well as where the school shuttle will pick up. Given the challenge of parking at or near school, many families carpool or use ride sharing services. There is an event happening at Julian B. Lane Park on 9/8, so parking there will not be easily accessible.

The evening will begin in the Walter Athletic Complex where you will be greeted by administrators and will be formally welcomed by Kevin Plummer. After Mr. Plummer’s welcome, you will be directed to meet your child’s advisor, where you will receive your child(ren)’s schedule for the evening.

Stop by the front desk with any question or direction needed. In addition, students wearing We Are Tampa Prep shirts will be available around campus to help direct you to your student’s advisor, teachers and other resources. If you have more than one student attending you may want to review your children’s schedules prior to the event to determine which classes you prefer to visit.

Please know that there will not be time to speak to your child’s teachers at length about your child in particular. We look forward to discussing your individual child’s progress during the Family/Advisor Conferences on October 19. In addition, you may always email teachers with specific questions.

The following resources will be available for you to visit throughout the evening. If there is a Study Hall in your child’s schedule, you are welcome to take a break, or you can visit any of these resources:

Campus Store: Lobby
Chad Lewis – Technology (Information about MyTampaPrep and student Ipads):  Library
Jen Greseth  – Upper School Academic Support: Library
Sarah Johnson  – Middle School Academic Support: Middle School Hub 1st Floor
Mike Wagstaff – College Counseling: Room 3208
Diana Rendina – Librarian: Library
Suzy Lassacher – Student iPads: Room 3203 (Available Periods 1, 3, 5)
